What are People Saying?

"The Level One Certification will help you to take the next step—to go from appreciating and following Andrew's work, to being able to draw upon it and to share it with your students in your own teaching; to go from having a good toolbox to a much, much better one; and to go from having a limited idea of what your students were saying to you wordlessly in how they stand and how they move in performance, to really being able to see them, and so to begin to see what their brains and their bodies are saying."
Gary Moulsdale
“I’ve always been interested in how we can better use our bodies as singers & actors, but The Singing Athlete certification and Andrew's teaching have taken my voice-nerd-ness to a whole new level! I apply and feel the changes in my own practice, and my students are all thriving and so engaged! I live for the "WHAT!?" face when it all "clicks" for a student - it brings so much joy to both me and my students when they sing and move with such freedom. Thank you for being a pioneer in this field, Andrew - I truly believe this is the future of voice pedagogy.”
Amie Debrone
“This Certification has reinvigorated my teaching in such an exciting way. My students' minds are consistently blown with what a difference some of the new drills make, and I've opened up my eyes to a neural lens for things I was already doing that worked. And I feel more comfortable "riffing" on these themes, and looking for new tools and drills that work for my students. Lessons seem shorter because my toolbox has increased so much--I always feel I have more things to try with my students!”
David Baldwin
“Practical and magical!! Progress for my students (and for me) has been exponential since taking this class! For decades, I have been trying to unite my experience and training a performer, a vocal coach, and a speech therapist into my teaching style. Andrew Byrne’s Level One Certification serves ALL of it. Thank you, Andrew, for this class!!”
Lisa Viggiano
"As a performing artist, I know too well the overwhelm that can occur during critical, high-stakes moments in which I do not have access to my coach for guidance. It is in this state that The Singing Athlete Level One Certification serves me. Andrew’s comprehensive and accessible neuroscience framework provides an invaluable skill set for self-assessment and self-correction. I am so incredibly grateful that I now have the autonomous ability to meet the high demands of performance with less threat and greater ease."

Frequently Asked Questions

How is the Level One Certification different from the Online Studio or The Singing Athlete Video Guide?

The Online Studio and the Video Guide are designed as consumer-level products. Anyone can join and the content is kept at a level that doesn’t require outside study.

The Level One Certification will provide accountability to make sure you know the material, and will deepen your understanding of how brain-based voice training works.

It will also give you a chance to sing for Andrew  and get guidance for next steps to take.

After completing this course, you are going to feel much more confident and clear on what you’re doing in lessons.

Is this a live certification?

The certification is taking place online (using the Zoom platform). But the idea is that you will be present for class.

Is this a neuroscience course?

The Singing Athlete is a brain-based training system, but you don’t need to worry if you don’t have a background in neuroscience.

The pre-game videos will get you up to speed on everything you need to know, and the focus in class is on assessment and drills, which Andrew will guide you through.

Do I need a certain amount of experience as a singer/teacher/trainer?

Performers, teachers, and trainers of all levels can get a ton of value out of the course. There is no pre-requisite other than a love of learning about the voice, the body, and the brain.

What if I can't make one or more of the sessions?

I’d strongly prefer that you be present for the entire course. You will definitely get more out of it if you clear your schedule and show up.

That being said, life happens, so if you need to miss some portion of the course and watch it later, that is okay with me.

Will the sessions be recorded?

Yes, each session will be recorded and you will have lifetime access to the video recordings, transcripts of the sessions, and accompanying slides.

What are my payment options?

You will purchase the course online using a credit card through a secure checkout process.

If you need to make other payment arrangements, please use the email form at the bottom of this page.

Can I get a refund?

You can get a full refund if you cancel anytime before Friday, November  7th (one week before the course begins).

After November 7th, no refunds will be given.

Can I get Continuing Education Unit (CEU) credits for this course?

This course is not officially approved for CEU credits, but I can provide you with an invoice and certificate of attendance with which you can petition your organization to provide you the necessary credits.

You can also speak to your tax professional about deducting the cost of the certification as continuing education.
